FORMAT

The top 5 skateboarders from the regional qualifiers will  be eligable to compete at The DC National Championships on Saturday August 23th, 2008 at South Parc in Montreal, QC. Once there, Canada's top amateur skateboarders will have the chance  to skate the world class course at South parc as they try to take home a piece of the 20K CDN cash up for grabs.

Each run will be 1 minute long, each competitor will have two runs to impress the judges. There will be two skaters in each run, competing at the same time.  After the results from the first two runs are determined, the top 10 will move on to the next round.

The top 10 will be judged on their best run and in a result of a tie the second run will act as a tiebreaker. There will be one more  final run for the top 10  where the competitors will skate one at a time. There will be a minimum of two judges and they will be judging on 5 specific areas on a  5 point system. The top 5 in the Men's and Women's Category will qualify for the National Championship.

Technical skills - 5 points - advanced tricks (flipping the board, grinds, slides,manuals, combining flip tricks with grinds, slides,manuals)

Degree of difficulty - 5 points - hard, fast, scary (big rails, gaps, stairs)

Use of Coarse/Diversity - 5 points - use of the whole course (different obstacles, different lines, creativity, originality)

Consistency of Tricks - 5 points - consistant runs (landing clean, smooth lines, effortless style)
